Buy extras!
I have two remotes, my buddy has one. One was 2-years old - the others were only a year old. All three stripped threads when replacing batteries. Very poor quality for battery replacement compartment. I had two remotes because I could not get this part from Minn Kota to fix. They only seem concerned about themselves or their authorized shops. Shelled out the extra $150 for the second remote. Finding and dealing with Fish307 was excellent. First package got lost in mail. They immediately re-shipped once it was discovered post office couldn't track the item. I've got a spare and am so thankful I found Fish307. I rate the product poor because it will strip again. But it is better than buying an new remote!

Fixed my I Pilot Remote
I over-tightened the battery cover and stripped the threads on the back panel of my I Pilot remote. The battery compartment would no longer hold a battery and my remote was inoperable. To fix my remote, I ordered three replacement parts. 1) I-PILOT REMOTE COVER, BATTERY COMPARTMENT ASY - 2886422 2) CASE, BOTTOM i-PILOT 1.5 - 2372556 and 3) GASKET,BATTERY COMPARTMENT - 2376941. For less than $20 and less than 10 minutes of work, I fixed my remote. It works perfectly.

Control is well worth it. wish the cover when on better and not break so easy.

Good price and exactly what I needed
One of the small ears that hold the battery cover on had broke off and so the battery wouldn't stay in anymore. This part rectified the situation by replacing the broken back cover entirely. Super simple to replace and my remote is just like new without spending lots of $$$.
