Cannon Downrigger Motor Housing Cover
The part received is the OEM cover. Being the identical part as the one that broke it fit perfectly. My issue with the part goes back on Cannon. This is the second occurrence in a year where the rod holder section has broken through. The first one broke while Striper fishing after a 10 - 12 lb striper hooked up. I just happened to be standing at the downrigger and was able to grab the rod and save the rod and reel and also land the fish. The second one was very similar but was the rod holder on the motor housing. These covers and housings need to be strengthened up a lot in the area where the rod holders mount. Based on my experience they are a recurring point of failure. Both times I was within warranty but did not have time to go through the process so I paid for the parts and fixed them myself.
