Soft baits are rubber, silicone or other soft plastics molded into swimbaits, grubs, worms, tubes and other baitfish. They can come rigged or unrigged. Many are used with plain hooks while others work best with jig heads. Jig heads are lead, tungsten, or tin weights molded onto specially designed hooks with long shanks to use with soft baits or materials to imitate different types of food sources. Soft baits come in a large variety of colors and are disigned to target specific types of predatory fish and their natural habitats, as well as specific conditions in which you may be fishing. Fishing conditions which should be taken into consideration may include vegetation, water clarity, depth, temperatures, and use in freshwater or saltwater. Soft baits are swimbaits, grubs, worms, tubes, baitfish, eels, slugs and leeches, crawfish, crab and shrimp, creatures, frogs and mice, insects, larvae and waxies, and eggs. Each type of lure will suit specific tactics and styles, while often being versatile enough for multiple applications and tactics. Soft baits are quite versatile and can be cast and trolled, while many work best in vertical presentations such as ice fishing or from piers and are exceptional when float fishing. Our great selection of soft baits are best for panfish, trout, bass, pike, walleye, and many saltwater species.

Popular brands of soft baits available at  FISH307 include Rabid Baits, Berkley and more.
